The truth about creativity
“A creative life is an amplified life.”
The Daily Habit For Doers
“A creative life is an amplified life. It's a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life”
– Elizabeth Gilbert
Creative stuff.
It’s a lot of fun. It’s also quite difficult.
You know when you stumble upon a moment of creative genius… or find your flow.
But how do you do that consistently… predictably… so you can do it over and over again?
Two things.
Thing #1: Schedule time for creative work. It doesn’t happen if it’s not on your schedule.
Thing #2: Take notes at ALL times of day. I do this constantly because creativity strikes at the weirdest times; when you’re about to fall asleep, when you’re exercising, or when you’re going for a walk. If you don’t grab it while it’s hot… you’re going to forget about it. Do this and then when you sit down to work on your creative pursuits, the hard part is already done.
i.e. WRITE DOWN YOUR IDEAS the moment they come to you :)

What kind of coat is always wet when you put it on?
This Week’s Journaling Prompt
Choose any object in your immediate surroundings and write a short story or description from the perspective of that object. Think about its history, its daily experiences, and its interactions with the world around it. How does it view its purpose, & its environment? This exercise will encourage you to think creatively and see the familiar world in a new light.
This Week’s Challenge
For the next 3 days, carry a small notebook with you or use a note-taking app. Every time a creative idea or thought pops into your head, write it down immediately. At the end of the 3 days, choose the most intriguing idea you noted. Write a detailed plan on how you can develop this idea into a creative project, considering the steps, resources needed, and a timeline.
Riddle Answer: A coat of paint
