Time Blocking
The Daily Habit For Doers
“Time = life; therefore, waste your time and waste your life, or master your time and master your life.”
Alan Lakein
You know that feeling you get when you don’t know what to do? You’re not necessarily bored… but you’re unsure what you should be doing or working on? It probably makes you feel a little anxious…
A lot of anxiety is caused by this — by feeling directionless and out-of-control of your day.
But a strategy called “time blocking” can make a BIG difference.
(It has for me)
Time blocking involves dividing your day into blocks of time, each dedicated to a specific task or group of tasks.
For example (this is mine)...
7am - 9:30am - Drop off my daughter at school
9:30am - Noon - Work
Noon - 1:30pm - Lunch
1:30pm - 3pm - Exercise
3pm - 4pm - Work
4pm - 5pm - Pick up my daughter from school
Etc.
Unlike traditional to-do lists that merely suggest what you should do, time blocking dictates when you'll do it.
