The Daily Habit For Doers
āDone is better than perfect.ā
ā Sheryl Sandberg
In 1976, a computer club asked Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak to give a presentation on a product they had built.
But there was a problem.
The Apple-1 computer wasnāt finished ā it didnāt have a keyboard, or a plug.
But showing up with an unfinished product changed the fate of Apple forever.
Somebody reading the Homebrew Computer Clubās newsletter wanted to buy 50 Apple-1 computers for $500 each.
And get this.
That cash funded the completion of the computers.
Let me ask you somethingā¦
Have you ever said āNoā when somebody asked to see something youāve been working on?
Iāll bet you have.
You seeā¦
You probably assumed Appleās first computer must have been AMAZING, right?
It wasnāt.
There was an amazing idea behind itā¦
But Appleās first product was half-finished.
The guy who bought 50 Apple-1 computers would have bought anyoneās at the time.
Steve Jobs got the sale because he showed up.
Hereās the thing.
What if I told you that success has nothing to do with getting it perfect?
What if I told you success has everything to do with getting it done?
What if showing up was enough?
Itās not easyā¦
The ego has a habit of not letting anything out there half-finishedā¦
But just get it done.
Even if the thing crashes, has mistakes or looks like a 5-year-old created itā¦
Get the dang thing done!
And ship it.
