Children are good.
But you have to show them they’re good.
The Daily Habit For Doers
“If we want our kids to have self-confidence, we need to reflect to our kids that they are good. And feeling good comes from feeling understood. So use the most generous interpretation to make sense of your child’s behavior.”
- Dr. Becky
Children are good.
They are born good.
But they don’t know that… unless we show them.
Part of showing them that they’re good — or anyone we influence for that matter — is taking the most generous interpretation of their actions.
They didn’t make a mess, they made a mistake.
They didn’t ignore you, they got distracted.
They didn’t say that hurt you, they felt angry.
The more generous we are in how we interpret our children’s actions, the more self-confident they’ll be as adults.
