Beatles, Disney and Honda

Simple lesson they teach us

The Daily Habit For Doers

'As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.' ~ Rumi

The Beatles started in smokey, cramped clubs.

Disney's first sketches were simple little doodles.

Soichiro Honda began with a tiny garage, adding motors to bicycles.

All of these legends have something in common β€” they took the first step without waiting for everything to be perfect.

They remind us of something important β€” Just. Get. Started.

The reality is that you won't ever be fully ready.

There will never be a perfect time. You'll never know for 100% if your plan will work or not. And you can't leap to the 100th step without stepping onto the first.

🀦 Your first podcast might be filled with "umms" and awkward pauses.

🀷 Your debut video may lack the finesse of a Spielberg production.

πŸ™„ Your first sales pitch might be filled with stutters and hesitations.

✨ When you're about to start something new and feel nervous, just remember, you've faced challenges before and got through them. This is no different. You can do this too!

In fact…

A few weeks ago, I started building my very own podcast studio.

Do I feel ready? Absolutely not. I'm terrified. πŸ˜…

There are dozens of microphones to choose from, and editing software to master. Not to mention the infinite sea of topics and potential guests that I've yet to explore.

The whole thing is alien to me.

It's a mess right now, but you know what?

I can see the path I'm going on. It's not clear yet, but it's there, and I'm on it, one step at a time.

And the thing about starting something new is that the path doesn't lay itself out all at once. It reveals itself one step at a time.

If you make a mistake or stumble along the way, that's not a failure. It's simply a lesson that teaches you what to do next, guiding you closer to your goal.

The first step doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to happen.

If you're still hesitant to take the first step towards a goal you have in mind, here's what you can do β€”

Start with something so easy that it might feel too simple. It should be just big enough to count as a step in the right direction. There should not be a reason not to do it right now.

If it's starting a business, jot down one idea on a piece of paper.

If it's exercise, do one push-up.

If it's learning a language, learn one word.

πŸ‘‰ Don't wait for perfection. Don't make excuses. Don't delay.

Start now.

I will leave you with thisβ€” What's the one thing you'll begin before this year ends & what's the first step you have to take for it?
